Judgement Day is Coming
A day is coming that every person who has ever lived will face, regardless of status, reputation, or belief. Revelation 20 describes a great white throne, books opened, and all people judged according to what was recorded. Six foundational truths shape what the Bible teaches about this coming judgment. Judgment Day is certain and appointed by God. Everyone will face it without exception. Jesus will serve as the Judge. Every person will give an individual account. There will be a final separation into only two destinations. And death itself will ultimately be destroyed, meeting its own end in the lake of fire.
One of the most sobering realities is that no one can point to another person on that day. No pastor, no parent, no upbringing will stand in your place. The rich and the poor, the powerful and the forgotten, will each stand alone before Christ. The good news woven into this truth is that the Judge is also the Savior. If you know Jesus now, you know the One who will sit on that throne. For believers, the judgment is not about whether sin is forgiven, because Jesus already paid for that. It is about what was done with the life He gave.
The most pressing question anyone can face is whether their name is written in the Book of Life. Religion cannot place it there. Good intentions cannot place it there. Only surrendering your life to Jesus Christ secures your name in that book. For those who belong to Him, what comes after judgment is beyond anything this world can offer: a new heaven and a new earth, no more death or sorrow, and an eternal presence with Jesus Himself. The time to settle this question is not later. It is now.
